E body 8 3/4 value

They're not nearly as rare as A-body housings. I've bought E-body housings for $200, complete rear ends for not a lot more than that. I bought a '68-70 B-body rear axle complete with axles, backing plates, a 742 3.23 open center section and a brand new set of housing ends last year for $400. E-bodies are similar in price, if not a little lower. Some eBay examples. Of course there are folks asking a lot more than this, but they're not getting it.

I would take what you need and sell the rest, for what you paid for it you can probably recoup most of your money selling the leftovers.

Not likely. Most B/E body axles have a tapered section before the splines. They typically can't be re-splined at A-body length. C-body and truck axles are usually the donors for re-splining.
Correct. Key word most. minorCut to use for different apps. Not needing splined
