That’s what I’m debating. I can do the job with a cut off wheel and reciprocating saw. Just thought the plasma cutter “might” make things quicker and easier but I can buy a lot of blades for the cost of a plasma.
Needs a pretty good air supply. I have plasma, but rarely use it.
Its not well suited for cutting sheet metal in my opinion,high quality cutoff wheels last longer and leave a better edge.
And i cant stand the awful smoke in the shop. dealing with the dross,still needs another step to clean up. Not to mention the blast of fire out the backside.
