What do you think...is Indy a good builder?
Is the price fair?

My wife has convinced me to change directions and go modern....

INDY CYLINDER

Jeff

Mopar Performance has packages for the new hemis coming out... I saw them at the auto show this year...

Jeff, Your wife convinced you, you sure have a keeper!!! Why does the power out put look a little off am I missing something. 400hp and 375ftlbs seems a little low. You can spend a third of that and get that out of your teener.

Way more knowledgable than me here Jeff, BUT from what I have read(here) Indy has new owners and are big into mopars. I'm assuming the quality is good?

I'm just starting my research on modern hemi swaps....
I really like the old school look of these Indy engines. Wondering about the build quality anf their reputation.

Jeff

I can understand your liking t keeping the old school look but I think you are losing the most beneficial part of going modern without the fuel injection. I also don’t get the 5.7 heads on that build. Stock the 6.1 is 425hp 425 torque. You are already in the hole HP wise. Rat patrol has a decent run through on the effects of the different carb manifolds on his build that may be good to look at.

The other route to retain the old school look would be to buy a short block and build it up using this manifold...

I could run fuel injection with it.... I really want the engine to look at least somewhat old school. ...I don't want to open my hood and see nothing but plastic covers....
Vain....I know...but it's what I want.

The new Mopar Performance Hemi crate engines come with the computer modules and harnesses and a few other necessities to help hook them up....

I am not a fan of ICH , however a friend installed one of those outfitted with twin snipers and he absolutely loves it.

The Wheatcrafts are mopar guys and decent people. I have no experience with Indy after they bought it though. I never had issues with Indys quality but their service was a joke before.

30k damn just buy a totaled charger/challenger and yank the drive train, part the rest and be into it for pennies on the dollar.
