With your Mallory style type distributer, it’s easy with the two adjustment screws, you don’t need the kit to do the recurve. I just use a protractor and a zip tie. You will get a true Measurement. Redneck Re-curve

Set up your distributor without a distributor machine - nice.
I am confident that this method is not near as precise, non the less it will get you there with some trial and error.

that kit is just plastic wedges isn't it? just need to know what the one you want measures and it should be easy to go from there.
 
That is what I did.....kit give you an metric allen wrench...the screws take a torque set head,
