Hello All. I have a '72 D100 with a slant and NP435 granny trans. I've been searching for pics of the triangular bracket that supports the lower third of the bell housing around the low starter position. My truck's is missing and would explain the crack in the top of the bell housing. If I could find a pic I could easily fab or at least know one when I see it. Rather simply purchase one.
This would have to be the same for every slant powered NP435 truck since 1972.
Thanks -Andrew

Sorry I can't help with the low starter, but post over at slant six . org. Lots of truck folks and some should be able to help you.
In a pinch you can get flat bar stock from Lowes or Home Depot and bend/drill a strap.

You got me thinking and I guess I didn't have one either, I've been searching around and have come up with nothing. I'm only able to dig through my parts shed a couple minutes a day because I'm still working ( what I get for having an essential job)

I saw your content at /6org, can you use something like the LA trans braces from block to bell?

Morning Hyper. I figured Chrysler had designed a similar bracket for this config. It's a slightly different situation because the flywheel is 14" so starter bolts to the bell housing below the oil pan. Coincidentally where the brace attaches on the 833 and 904 bell housings.

This is what I am hoping was factory on the '70's trucks. obviously an older series but helps illustrate the notion.

Thanks for the pics. I wish that piece of tin was the answer!
Keep me posted, the main reason I couldn't really answer you before is because I had not tore into the truck yet. I'm finally getting to it so I'm going through the boxes of parts from the previous owner and trying to put this puzzle together.

Mopar on brother :)
