What Am I Missing?

So, I got the wheels. Wednesday, actually. Fast.
I tried one on the back, to check fit. It wouldn't go on. I checked the wheel bolt pattern. All good.
I checked the bolt pattern on the FORD 9" rear that is sitting in place, in my Duster. IT'S 4.75!! GM pattern!! Someone, in this rear axle's history put axles in with a GM pattern! I never thought to check it. Why would I? It's a Ford axle!
So, I called McCormack. I figured I'd have to eat the return shipping, and have them send me 4.75" wheels. The very nice lady (Karen) told me they don't have the 4.75 wheel, let alone at the sale price.
So, I can return them and eat the shipping. Then, order them from Jeg's, or Summit for $307 each! (McCormack's $220 each) It's starting to get expensive!
What I'm going to do: keep the wheels I have and redrill the drums and axles. I don't think I have the right tools to do it myself, so I'll take them to a shop. I need my driveshaft shortened, so I'll take that too.

Ain't it always something?

And, to hijack my own thread, the fronts will be another story. I have 9" drums w/ the 4" pattern. I guess I have to convert to discs to get the 4.5 pattern. It's tempting to see what 10" drums w/ the 4.5 pattern would work. It ain't gonna be a road racer. Raced a 3900# Road Runner (116 mph) that had 10" drums (lighter than 11", cheaper than discs) and never had a stopping issue.

Typical hotrodding !! Mostly have to modify everything !
