1973 Dart 340 Sport Project

Since rear wheels and back spacing comes up often, thought I'd post my experience. Might help someone else down the road. I had installed the spring relocation kit that moves the springs in 1/2 inch. Both quarters have been replaced. I went with 17 x 8 Vision wheels with 5.25 backspace. The tires are 255-45 x 17. Once installed, I had about 1/4 inch clearance between the tire and the spring, too close for my comfort. There is about 1.5 - 2 inches between the tire and the outer fender lip. Based on advice from another member, I got some 3/16" spacers. With these spacers there was not enough thread engagement with the lug nuts. I ended up buying longer studs and billet aluminum 3/4 inch spacers. Haven't installed them yet, I'll post my experience when done.
