<=== see my Avatar! I have a 68 Barracuda convertible that I purchased as best described, exploded view! Restoration started years ago, body shop started work and shut down... - insert long sad story here - among other items that were missing, I bought it without seats. I figured I can figure out something to do for front seats. Back seat is the issue, oh and also I'm cheap... :) Thought I would throw it out and see if anyone had an lower and back frame? Or if someone has some ideas? Worst case I build some plywood platforms and it becomes a 2 seater?

I haven’t decided which way I am going with my rear seat. I am putting Sebring convertible seats up front and debating on putting the matching rear seats in. I have both the original and the Sebring seats along with all the pertinent attaching parts cut out of the Sebring. Don’t know what kind of time frame you are looking at but if I go with the Sebring seats then I will have the originals available. Just to give you an idea of how the Sebring seats fit. (Quick mock up)

Convertible seats are specific and hard to find, coupe will not fit. When you do they are pricey is all I can say

Actually I like the Sebring option as well. Im not in a hurry....thanks, keep me in mind if you would...

Do the seats interfere with the top at all?

They shouldn’t interfere. The back is a couple inches higher than the stock but should be plenty of space. The car is in exploded view now so I can not test.

NICE! Looks like you are a little ahead of me with my project! So what trans, rear end and suspension you going with?

6.1 Hemi 4L60e trans RMS front suspension and 8 3/4 out back. 8 3/4 currently has 3:23. Undecided on what gears I may wind up with

Rear seat frames from verts are often quite rusty, especially the bottoms. Not rusty wont be cheap. Bottom frame from some other, like notch back, is a materials donor for restoring a rusted vert bottom frame. Sebring seats would be most affordable route.
I'm looking at the pics above and wondering could that bottom frame be modified to clear the hump, fit better. It probably isn't made of much. Most newer seats are just molded foam on a wire frame, no springs. Good luck to all.

You are correct it is just basically some foam and wire. I just threw the seats in there one day to see how close they matched up to the side panels. There is not any mounting provisions in there yet. Back is just propped up. I cut out the bottom mount from the Sebring along with the rear that contains the shoulder belts with the plan to use some if not all to install. Just haven't made it to the floor/ interior side of the metal replacement yet
