Well, these heads are for sale and the discussion between a potential buyer(not me) and the owner was that they are not for 340's. They are W2 natural race heads, cast iron, 48 degree, 47cc. I'm not familiar with W2 heads other than what I read here on FABO. So my question is what would make these not suitable for a 340 and what are they for then? Thanks -G

They made heads for 59* (stock block) and the race 48* race blocks or vice versa...

After figuring out where to look on FABO I found the thread. Thanks -G

The lifter bank angle in the block is 48 degrees... stock is 59. The 48 degree deal takes some of the wonky pushrod angle out of the equation.

40 years ago the Cup teams would cut the lifter bores out of the 59 degree blocks and weld them back in at 48 degrees to straighten the pushrods. Mopar finally took a hint and developed the 48 degree blocks.
