Any Recommendations on a Reliable and Reputable Mechanic?

Hello Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone had a recommendation for any good mechanics in the Collegeville, Trappe, Royersford, Phoenixville (Montgomery County / Chester County) areas in Pennsylvania?
I have a 1966 Dodge Dart GT convertible (273 V8) that I would like to have someone take a look at.
If you have any suggestions or are a mechanic, please let me know.

Just some generic advice on mechanics... good, fast, cheap: pick any two :)

It's also been said that if you think good mechanics are expensive, try a cheap one...

Very true... thus the reason for seeking advice from a group of fellow Mopar enthusiasts. Nothing is cheap these days... so I will take good... not in a big rush either, the car has been waiting 50+ years for love, a few week/ months wont hurt. Hahaha.
I appreciate the insight and levity though.

There was a guy I've bought parts from in central-northern PA. Nobody "near" you though. Depending on what you need done, it may not need be a "mopar" guy, but rather a place that works on the older cars. And yes - expect a higher labor rate for a real business that specializes in them. I'd ask your local car clubs and/or jobber parts stores (like NAPA, Car Quest, etc... places that sell and deliver primarily to garages)

Great advice. Very true just looking for an honest mechanic familar with older cars... i didn't think about the parts store people for recommendations but that makes good sense.

Sadly I've gone to supposed "reliable" mechanics in the past only to find out they weren't. It looks pretty nice what are your concerns? Maybe we can walk you through some stuff? These old cars don't have much to them. They're not like new cars with sensors and whatnot.

Thanks. I might take you up on that. I just acquired the car so I am going to start with changing all the fluids, plugs, wires, fuel filters as well as any "standard " basic tune up items.
Right now it runs but very rough. There seems to be a few small leaks that i need to investigate. One looks to be power steering hose. The exhaust has a bit of a stale smell to it and there seems to be a bit more smoke when I start it up...
I was hoping to get it up on a lift to look underneath as well as I think based on smell that there might be a bit of an exhaust leak...
Now I know that this is a 50 year old car so I am realistic in the belief that all of these items will need addressing... thus the hope to connect with someone to let me know if it is just those items or a whole bunch more.
Brakes are on the list but I am considering a 4 wheel disc conversion just to give me piece of mind.
Anything else you think I should be looking at?
I am no expert but willing to learn.

None of those are beyond a specialty shop to look at and at least price. If you want some extra opinions, take the car home and then get back to us with what they say.
With what you describe- I’d figure on a carb rebuild, full time up including setting the valves, and a full exhaust. Depending on the parts choices and the shops approach, probably under $1k to have it all done.
 
This will be a labor of love. Star with the electrical system. Make sure all of the wiring and connections, grounds etc. are cleaned, greased with dielectric grease and any frayed wiring repaired. Nothing worse than restoring your car and then watching it go up in smoke. It is a 55 year old car and will need much love. Get a service manual.Mandatory on any car. even if someone else ends up doing most of the work. Never hurts to know as much as possible about something you own. Nice looking car and a nice color. My wife loves yellow cars, especially Mopars.
