Would like some help finding out what the tag is for on the left side of the block near the engine mount, and where the negative batt cable taps into the block. There’s not a lot of info on it except a stamped number “208950” and some partial lettering “TA******CORP” maybe one of you guys might have run across a tag like this one. Let me give you some history on where I obtained the engine in the form of a long block. I needed another engine for my ‘70 Challenger, which rolled off assembly in LA with a Slant6 in it. This was in the mid 90’s, I asked the parts dept. at the dealership I purchased the car from. They told me for $1,100. (Which ended up being $900.) they would locate an engine for me, although the Slant6 wasn’t something they get asked for every week. Took 3 weeks they located this ‘77, with p-nut plug head Slant6 long block. I was told it was found in a warehouse in Midwest destined for a vehicle at a military base. Had never been installed in a car before this, so 0 miles on engine. I’m hoping one you can give me some knowledgeable light on this. Appreciate anything.
Thanks, Al
