Hello Mopar Community I have a 1970 Dodge Dart Custom(the 4door) with the in-line 6, I recently just purchased it and I el noticed that with 2 people sitting in the back the wheels will scrap the fender so I’m thinking it’s time for New suspension, anyone have any recommendations

If you would like to go with U.S.A. made parts, I can service you.... Let me know....
There are US made Suspension parts??? I thought that when Moog moved to, I think, Indonesia, That was the end of US made suspension parts. I know there are leaf springs made here, and custom things, but not regular suspension parts. Please tell me more. My 69 Barracuda is OK, but I was thinking about a suspension rebuild.

It’s just as likely to be the wheels and tires as it is the suspension. With the proper backspace the tires shouldn’t rub even if the suspension is worn out.

What size wheels and tires are on the car? Do you know the backspace?

It may be that the suspension is worn out. It may be that the suspension is worn out and the wheels and tires aren’t located right for the car either. And if that’s the case, just buying new suspension parts may not fix the problem.

"when two people sit in the back..."

I presume that you are speaking of the rear tires?

Go to ESPO Springs and Things and get a pair of 6 leaf springs for a 1970 340 Swinger. Replace the bushings in the rear shackles when you replace the springs. The springs will come with new bushings pressed in for the front mounts.
