This is an probably an original K-H manufactured rotor,
There aer weights in the vanes. I assume the hub with rotor assembly was balanced at the factory, or maybe just the rotors.
So if you see that in a used set, that's a clue its old stock even if its on the hub.


The 'hat' on the originals was left as cast.


On some (all?) of the castings made in the past couple decades, the casting is not perfectly round in that area.
If not machined down, the high spot of the casting will kiss the caliper or piston boot every rotation.
