Fuel Pump Eccentric Delete

You need to have the proper cup type cam retaining washer on there. The cam gear is retained by clamp load. The key is only for orientation and is not intended to drive the camshaft! Summit sells a engine hardware kit by Dura-Bond that has the proper retainer. 65'

I have the cup washer and it's on there. I just don't want to put the eccentric back on. The ultimate question is does the 1/8" or so thickness of the eccentric matter?

what if you ever break down in hicktown USA and cant get a new electric pump?

i for one, would like to know that i am two bolts away from putting a mechanical pump back on and continuing my journey

The car is a race car, it goes everywhere on a trailer. I'm over mechanical pumps. The plumbing is now set up for the electric pump.

No, still carbureted. Mechanical pumps that can produce enough fuel pressure for what I need are as expensive as an electric and still not as consistent. It's easier for me to manage an electric pump.
