Stop in for a cup of coffee

Boot it with the OS disc and do a file system check and repair.
Once in command prompt mode you use the command line chkdsk C: /r
Should look kind of like this, and then type Y for yes and attempt a reboot from the hard drive.
Or since the drive won't be in use it will do the check right when you type the command and hit enter on your keyboard.

Most likely you are loosing the hard drive, but this should either fix it or give you the reason why it can't.

You are aware that most laptops do not have a CD/bluray drive any longer? Tough to boot from OS disc....
