Coupler For Borgeson Steering Box

I've installed a Borgeson steering box. I have 2 Mopar couplers. One is from a '70 Duster, the other is from a '71 Duster. They both have different sized holes on the spline ends that connect to the box. I understand that one was for manual steering and one was for power steering. But, neither of then work with the Borgeson box. The small one won't fit the splined shaft on the box and the larger one spins freely with just barely any contact. Are there no Mopar couplers that work with the Borgeson units?
I'm looking at the Bergman Autocraft coupler, but am concerned that it also may not fit.
Anybody running tbe Borgeson box? What coupler are you using?

Our box has an 11/16-36 spline input shaft, we offer a coupler #036425 (not a Mopar type but a vibration reducing universal joint) or Bergman Autocraft offers the Mopar style coupler that will have the proper spline for our box. The factory power box was an 5/8-36 spline and the manual boxes a 3/4-36 spline.

The couplers they supply are a nice improvement over the factory style.
Super easy to install also, and they supply you with the drill bit, with the coupler.
If you break the drill bit on the last hole, like we did. There’s your roll pin.

I used the u-joint type that Borgeson makes. The rubber factory/Mopar stuff is not worth re-using, IMHO.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the clarification. I'm super happy with the box and can't wait to get it on the road.
 
I thought Borgeson was going to start including the couplers so people didn't have to go through this?

Maybe they're uncluding them.

Not sure about that. I bought the box 1.5 years ago, so maybe they weren't including it back then.
 
My coupler allows you to install without cutting your shaft. Furthermore, it retains the original plunge in the steering shaft as it was designed. The flex of the chassis requires somewhere for that movement to go, hence the shaft moving inside of the coupler. All makes of the day had something similar.

Just replaced my factory PS gearbox With Borgeson to accommodate a Gen III Hemi swap into my 74 A Body. Will I need a new coupler? If so, which one will I need?
 
I sell the coupler on my site, Bergmanautocraft.com. There is only one bolt in style coupler for both box sizes. I also have the fittings to use factory hoses.
 
Is it the universal joint SKU 5-0080?

additionally, I Purchased the boards and Power Steering hose kit 925113. Do I still need additional fittings to connect this to my PS box?

Yes 5-0080 is correct
No you don’t. But why would you want to cut your column and have universal hoses that are too long?

I’m not following. The car is factory PS. Since I’m doing a Hemi swap, I had to change the box. I didn’t know until recently I was going to need to cut the column. I would prefer not to given a choice. As far as the hoses, it’s the Borgeson kit, so I was really working from the box back to the pump.

I’m not sure I understand the correlation between the hoses and cutting the column.

I didn’t know what your engine application was. I have the AN fittings for the box and PTFE hose if needed. Just PM me.
