If it makes the noise right off after starting it I’d pull the drive belts off of the accessories and fire it up and see if it’s gone. Don’t run it too long as water pump won’t be turning.
That's what I'm gonna do tomorrow morning,it was a good deal,440,727,9.25 with a locker,though I could sell the rear axle and keep the motor and trans for my dart,its running on propane,and was well maintained at one time,
