Maybe that's my problem, I buy tires from wal mart. They have a huge selection of them but I wouldn't call them performance tires.
They are round, black and made of a percentage of rubber.
The tire that blew up was new in Jan. 2016, still have the paperwork. Could be a bad tire, who knows
