Just bought a 1978 440 for my dart,its in a van right now,it had not been run in years,I just got it running,and iTunes great,one noisy lifter and a strange low howling sound comming from the front of engine? Could this be a bad water pump,or did I buy a bad motor....
You ought to go thru the engine anyways anytime you don't wanna put a time bomb in your dart, then you'll be full of hate & that isn't a good thing for one's heart.
Gasket set, aluminum water pump & housing anyways, your 440 will give you a hug for that. You'll wanna know that your piston rings aren't stuck, it's only a couple hours, blood sweat & tears (just kidding bout the tears)
