Hole in casting... Fill or not?

-
Leave it alone. If you weld it, you’ll jack enough heat into the block to at least make that lifter bore out of round.

If you put an epoxy over it, what did you do? Stop a small leak maybe?

Again, the machinist probably looked at it, knew it was there from day one and moved on so I’d leave it alone.

Somehow the engine ran with that hole before you took it apart. Just JB Weld it and forget it.

I `D TAPP IT AND INSTALL A SCREW , LOCTITED , THAT DOESNT GO THRU TO THE LIFTER BORE AND FORGET IT , DEBUR THE BORE AND MAKE SURE IT is ULTRA CLEAN BEFORE THE LOCTITE .
I wonder why any one would drill that to start with , unless they were going to do an oil mod , . then changed their mind , would have to lower oil pressure some I `d think.!

I don’t think that is a drilled hole. I think it’s a casting flaw that chipped out kinda round.
