Neon is back together and running. Not sure if it solved the problem. It has never run 'smooth', so tough to tell. Did a little test drive and it was not terrible. No big hesitation, but seemed sluggish going up a good size hill. There is a long incline the way I usually come home from work. That's were I noticed it was definitely not right before I changed the pump. the place I just tried it is maybe 1/3rd as much of a hill, so not as convincing one way or another. I only put a couple gallons back in (ran some of what I took out through a strainer) Think I will run out again and get gas and see how it acts.
I did have one oops putting it together. Forgot to transfer the little lock clip for the fuel line fitting. Hit the key a couple times to prime the line and heard a pop and spray.... At least I know it had good pressure. LOL
