Flywheel modification?

I ordered a pilot bearing for it but haven’t picked it up yet. I just assumed the crank would have been drilled for either automatic or standard transmission.
Usually not the case. Not all cranks are drilled, some are rough drilled but not to finish size, and if you're lucky you've got one that is finished. If it's rough drilled and not finish sized, run the late model roller bearing in the convertor register. If it's not rough drilled, you've got 3 options: pull the crank and take it to a machine shop and have it finished to spec. and run the standard bushing; rough drill it yourself (does not need to be precise, just deep enough) and run the roller, or cut an inch or so off the input shaft and run the roller. There's lots of individual preferences pro and con between the last two, but those are your choices, and all have been done successfully.
