I have been looking ALL over for the oil sending unit. I cannot find it for the life of me. All I know is that it's toward the passenger side of the neutral safety switch and to the drivers side of the AC unit. It's not on the back of the block, not near the oil pump that I can see, and not near the oil filter that I can see as well.

Anyone know the exact place of it? Thanks.

I've seen a few early blocks where the sender was threaded right into the oil gallery on the passenger side of the block about 3/4 of the way toward the rear. 99.9% have them in the oil pump housing though.

I T'd off this for my turbo oil line.

Melling MV66HV. Port is plugged, remove it and it looks like it may require a 3/8-18 NPT adapter for the oil pressure sender, but NPT is always much larger than it sounds so it may in fact be a straight 3/8 NPT plug. They used 1/8 NPT senders also over the years @slantsixdan

If his car just has an oil light, the sender should thread right into the pump housing. If he has a gauge, yes, he'll need an adaptor fitting for the sender. The factory ones had one with a 45 degree angle to it in most applications.

Mine is still original with the sender in the side of the block towards the rear on the passenger's side. 64 Valiant 170.

Yup. Like I mentioned, some of the early slants had them there on the block.

It's $70 but figured it was worth it. Summit has a oil filter relocation kit. I'll just tap into that.

Actually you don't want to use the 66HV pump. It is not necessary, and can actually cause excessive cam gear wear. The standard melling pump is a high volume pump as compared to the stock factory pump.

Turns out I just needed a mental vacation and to clean my glasses. Took a day off, got under the car and there it was. Right where it's supposed to be. 42 PSI . All good.
