Ok , need to step back

My old 360 got worse mpgs than my current 413, torque is outstanding compared also. And this with a 3.73 vs 3.23 for the 360. The big block just hums down the road effortlessly.

I like the idea of the 340 and as far as missing the torque, my 354 had probably more butt grabbing torque then the 470. The 340 should be very streetable.
As others have said, do what makes you happy.
In my opinion, the feeling you got from the 354 was a combination of torque and fast revving versus a slow revving big block stroker, even if it had more horsepower and torque overall.
That's why I suggested detuning the big block.
It was the feeling overall of the 354 combination that made you happy.
So........ no harm and no foul, you need to do what it takes to give you the driving pleasure that you are after!

I don't know what stroker big block revs slow, my buddies 6 pack 511 and another guys 512 rev pretty damn fast.

Comparatively speaking.
Personally, I am a big block guy, so I would do it differently.
But it's all in what you want..............

I know there will be things IWill miss but the trade will be seamless and its not like the 340 is going to be nutered. I have not seen
build sheet yet but from what yellowrose says its got some good stuff in it. I just have waaay too much stuff on my plate.
