That’s oversimplified.

These are specific high end collector vehicles. The as-is price for the Hemi Challenger could be around 6 figures (condition & doc extremely depending).

You can see there are parts involved too. High end parts at that.

Some friend of the family that owns a 66 Mustang is not going to have a grasp at the real world selling price for these cars.

Turns out..... Sales is a skill and service.

Knowledge of product, knowing market price, knowing how to find end use customers, negotiating, etc

Sure some friend could put it up eBay... with poor description, poor pictures, missing box of critical parts left on shelf. Then someone looks at 1 car and location of everything is leaked....the land rush starts and the flipper goon squad is camped out at the widow’s front door.
