A number of years ago a friend gave me a bunch of '65 Barracuda AC parts. I am going through stuff now trying to make space and selling what I don't need, as my car does not have AC and I don't plan on installing it either. My original 273 4 bbl from my '65 FS is on the stand, so I thought I'd try to mount up this pulley just to make sure it fit before I offered it to the group, and to my surprise, the bolt holes don't line up. They're close, but not right. The center hub fits fine though. I started looking through the parts book and it gets confusing when it comes to AC parts, and now I'm wondering if it came off a slant 6 instead of a 273. Is there any way of knowing, I don't have a slant 6 so can't test fit on a 6 crank. Someone on the list may need this part, so I hate to toss it out. Any suggestions?

Looks 273 to me. I have one similar.

I clocked it all the way around to each position, and none of the positions allowed the bolts to fit. I also compared it to the pulley I removed and couldn't get the holes to line up.

It’s not a slant crank pulley as the alternator sheave is built into the balancer with PS and/or AC sheaves being bolt on’s

Thanks for the feedback on the slant 6 pulley, the one I posted above is for a 273. I just checked it again, and actually ran the bolts in and it DOES fit the 273. My mistake, I think maybe I was being a bit too critical about the bolt holes lining up perfectly with my non AC pulley.

Do you still have it? I'm going to install AC on my 65 Plymouth Valiant Signet convertible (non-factory AC car) and assume I may need it. If you have it, how much do you want for it?

Early crank pulleys are slightly different then later ones by a fraction . IDK when the break was but I'm thinkin' it was after the 273 was retired from production . 273 A/C setups are some of the most complicated in the industry for no apparent reason . I know this may not help but I've been through this and it's not funny .

If you are looking for a part, start a wanted thread.
