Good story about the Viper... (Dad had a 94 Viper)

My brother and dad went to the Viper owner's meet in Detroit... It lasted the whole weekend... So on the way home, my brother is cruising at 80 MPH and passes a MI state trooper sitting in the median with 8 miles to go to the Indiana border...

My brother downshifts, dad feels the car speeding up and asks, "What are you doing"????

My brother replied, "There's no way that cop car can catch a Viper with an 80 MPH head start before the border"... View attachment 1715571059
haha and did it?

That’s actually the sole reason I’m even working on that thing. I had loaned a buddy some money after his now ex wife ran off and drained his account. He got laid off shortly after, He felt bad about not being able to pay me back and despite me telling him it wasn’t needed, I mean it was only a 300 dollar loan to get him by until payday, insisted on giving me this Polara that had been sitting for twenty years. I really didn’t want it but figured I could part it out.
My daughter went along with me the snowy day I drug it home. Immediately declared it as hers. She’s just 6 but insist the car either stays how it looks now or gets repainted her favorite color, Teal. She’s loves that thing for some reason. So that’s why I don’t part it out or stop working on it. It’s for her enjoyment and she “helps” with it, usually by pretending to race it

That's a great story!

Yep. I know some people think I’m nuts and stupid for even messing with the car. But seeing her excitement in it, I just couldn’t bring myself to part it out or scrap it. Her excitement and love for it just makes me want to fix it and put the work into it. Even if it’s not worth it from a monetary standpoint, it’s more than worth it from a sentimental stand point.

Is there a build thread for the polara?

I was informed yesterday the the 4 yr old granbrat has discovered my Matchbox and Hot Wheel collection recently and has not stopped playing with them since. :D She has even parked her tablet to play with cars

Figured since it was a B body, it should be there. I can start one here too I guess
I had started the coronet thread here and I'm not going to hesitate if I work on another b body.

People have had trucks, vans and other stuff here.

Besides, being a 64, they didn't have letter body designations so it's just a Mopar.

All true. I suppose I could start one later

On a more serious note, has anyone ever tried a chiropractor ? With the back problems I’ve been having, wife keeps telling me I should go

My daughter has back problems and goes to one as needed. She says it works for her.

Yes, I've been to a chiropractor... They help... I got rear ended by a drunk driver doing over 90 MPH back in 1988 and had a severe case of whiplash... The chiropractor adjustments helped realign my spine and feels better...

I set up my trim polish rig today. Stuff I bought when I did the Road Runner. 4 pieces done for the rear glass. You can see the difference in the pic on the table. The two pieces in front are not touched yet. Also, I have a table full of more trim to be done. Worth it tho.
