I recently just purchased a Carter AFB 3854S for my planned 4 barrel setup. I am planning to put on top of an Edelbrock D4B. I think I have a decent plan for the transmission kick down rods but I am not sure what I should do with the choke.
Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly, you can add an Edelbrock electric choke kit. Do you have a picture of the manifold? If it is like a LD340 I might have a slick trick that might work.

Edelbrock electric choke conversion, I may have one if interested.

Will the Edelbrock electric choke conversion work? I seen some images of a few online for sale but am not sure it would mount up. Bellow is a picture of the carburetor I have.

An electric choke conversion might not work on that carburetor. I may have a carburetor, kit, & electric choke conversion that I'll make you a smoking deal on. I'll have to dig them out so I can get pictures. PM me your email address & when I get pictures, I'll send them to you.

No, I don't think it will work. It will bolt up if you remove the choke pull off nipple and Counterbore it for the vacuum seal. I know I have converted later AVS's before, but the choke operation is different on the 67 and earlier carbs. The manifold choke won't work either if your intake is like that. The LD340 I have has a tapped hole to screw a choke down.

do you really need a choke ? my carb has no choke and it's been fine for 4 years , of course don't drive it in winter . Starts and runs fine down to 40 degrees

There's always the old manual choke cable setup if you really think you need one.

You can use the electric choke but will need the choke shaft with the correct rod attachment position. A super cheap parts carb or someone with a spare part.
