Does the odometer tell how many hours are on the motor as well as miles? I saw a vid that had an ex GM patrol car with a year of idling. IIRC it was still in good shape, even the DOD was still functional. Spoiler alert...nothing wrong with it, uneventful teardown. ABUSED was click bait.
my particular year/options do not show idle hrs. I believe I have the std instrument cluster, but I think the optional cluster does track idle hours. I think the optional cluster is std in the srt8. I don't have access to a super expensive scan tool either, but I think the idle hours are visible on a high zoot scan tool, also. I just don't know if the scan tool (idle hrs display) works on a std cluster.
I saw that vid, too. I was a little pissed that the title was misleading, too.
