Pitfalls and Perspectives of "Hiring" a 27 year-old Young Lady

-
This girl sound just like my daughter. She is 19 years old 4’9” 105lbs. Can hardly cut a waffle. Can hardly open a bottle cap, still does not know her left from her right. Gets lost in a gas station(not kidding about any of it). She is the most honest and kind hearted person I ever met in my life. She tries hard and gives 100%. Her 100 is most peoples 75. I say give the girl a chance. She may have a learning disability like mine. My girl still can’t unlock the front door. Your house may burn to the ground or get flooded but at least your animals will be safe and loved on.......and that’s the most important thing anyhow.

And about that ladder, she has never allowed anyone to pick her up except me and my wife since she was a child and definitely not above the head. She gets car sick if in the back seat. Not when she drives though. She drives the same route everyday about 2 miles and still forgets where to turn. You will be doing her a big favor and helping her self esteem in my opinion.

Yeah, but ain't you 'fraid a heights?

:poke:

Uh, no...........just DIY rickety wood ladders LOL

LOL. Actually that is my place, several years ago. The WW (the original the 1500) as well as the WWIII (the3/4T) are both gone. I now have the GREY Whale, the 01 Cummins.

Hell I know some grown *** men that dont know how to use their hands for anything other than fondling their own pecker.
Climb a ladder they would not have a clue how to do it.

Now that I have shown the rookie girl all the "ropes" around here, I decided to have a little fun.

She was gathering up some leaves in the yard with a pretty much wasted-away straw broom. I walked over to her and asked if she knew how to drive a broom? (I meant like a witch rides one on Halloween) She looked at me kinda funny, perplexed to think that I was about to introduce her to some broom handling tips, of all things.

Of course, after I explained the joke to her, she admitted she thought I noticed that she was using the broom wrongly and that I was going to show her a better way. We both kinda laughed about that little misunderstanding/mis-interpretation.

I then followed up by asking her if she had ever dressed as a witch for Halloween? She answered in the positive, so I asked if a broom was part of the costume? She said no, just the hat and the black dress.

During the walk around the block with the dogs, I asked her if she had any tattoos. Nope.

I asked her if she had ever snuck out of the house. She said no, her parents were very strict. I proceeded to explain to her how my little sister and step-daughter both eventually got caught sneaking out at night.

Just returned yesterday after a couple weeks in California. The good news is that we arrived back safe and sound after a family reunion of kinds in the Bay Area. And everything was in order here in Mexico: dogs healthy and happy, plants green, yard cleaned, classic cars and tools intact. The girl we hired (who is selling her old red 2004 Peugeot) drove her newly purchased red Suziki Swift over here for the first time today when dropping off the keys and picking up her final payment for services rendered.

The bad news is we missed one connecting flight on the way out, which set me back a good thousand dollars. I won't be able to purchase the girl's Peugeot like I had been seriously considering. I need another vehicle like I need another hole in the head, must be for the best (sour grapes?).

A box with some classic car parts was opened by TSA on the trip back. I also had to pay 16% Mexican import tax on the $500.00 worth of small parts inside the box. Nothing went missing or damaged anyway.

When you said "5 foot tall, 100 pounds soaking wet" i thought you were talking about rainy
dang, im getting mentioned in old threads and never even knew it, till i just happened to open an old thread i never saw before

i wish i were 5 foot....not even with high heels....

She doesn’t look 27 yet, maybe 17.

That’s good you’re teaching her work ethics, most kids lack that nowadays.

Height does not matter. :D
try being a mechanic at 4'7"....not easy but usually all a guy has to do is say i cant do something and my usual response is ...."here, hold me mountain dew and watch this" because i'm no one's damsel in distress and never will be.

Dibbons, you sound like a patient man to put up with a slow response to duties and orders. Some of us are not as kind or patient so i hope she appreciates you. You're nicer than i would be.

One night in El Paso (working as a Border Patrol Agent, circa 1985) we apprehended a group of a dozen Guatemalans who tried to claim they were Mexican. Their small stature gave them away and we had a good laugh.

Hey...You mentioned Mountain Dew ....My F A V O R I T E !!!
I am down to 3 cans of the "Throwback" Mountain dew, the original sugar based formula. It tastes so much better than the newer stuff made from corn syrup.

I've worked with Latinos that get really pissed to be called Mexican if they are Guatemalan, called Guatemalan when they are Mexican or any other thing.
It cracks me up that many get so bent out of shape about it.....Since most that I have worked with will call ANY Asian person a "Chino". Most Asians seem reasonably polite if you accidently mis-identify their race.
