64 Valiant 2 door sedan. Is there anybody besides US CarTool that makes frame connectors for the little 106" wheelbase cars? I want some more affordable options. I may just get the MP style and cut to fit. Anybody know of anything else?

I thought this to death,
Then I ordered a set from JEGS for a 67-72 dart
They fit perfectly in my 64 valiant .no need to weld to the floors.

The steel yard? Really, no need to spend that much. My 2x3x8ft tube was $18. That's all you need. You can even make the front "plates" from the part you cut out to slip over the rear frame rails.

You joking right? someone like yourself is actually going to pay hundreds of dollars for a straight piece of metal? Triple R I trust you got more sense than that...

Well, technically it's not straight, it's got a little bend in it... :)

I kind of pushed mine up into the floorboard just a little bit. And hits the back floor board. you know once you put carpet over there and there's a little dent in the bottom of the floorboard oh, I haven't had one passenger complain but then again I haven't had one passenger sit in the back...LOL you would never know it once you put the carpet on and it's even hard to detect with the carpet off it's not like it pushes it up 3in or something..
I felt I gave it even more support by stitch welding them to the bottom of the floor as well...

If a 4-foot piece of 1 and 1/2 by 2 and 1/2 in. straight piece of metal needs a little bend in it put each end on a brick and stand on it. LOL I'm sure that triple R can provide plenty of weight to make a curve in it LOL...

Lol, I was talking about the sheet metal designs. I'm not about to call someone out for weight, I could probably bend my 2x3 tube :)

=C

Probably not....I just thought I would ask. I don't have a lift. I'm nowhere near as young as I used to be, so getting on the floor is no fun anymore. If I can find some for a good bit under 200 OR if I can maybe luck up and trade for some......that would save a LOT of pain.

I THOUGHT they were the same. I was just not sure. Thank you.

Now I hear you about getting down and rolling around on the ground! I don't consider the absolute fun party working on the car but sometimes I got to do what I got to do. In the end those damn bars always going to end up being weld it in anyways. And even if you bought them in you guys get down on the ground and drill holes and then they're just kind of hanging there by the bolts LOL... What I've done is taken to putting a crap ton of old carpet scraps all over my garage floor and I end up jacking the car up just as high as a jack stands will take it I'm giving myself as much room as much comfort as I possibly can while I'm down there and for God's sakes try to get everything I can think of as far as tools down there before I lay down... Yes there's some small fires to put out once in awhile when I'm welding but nothing that's flamed up and caused a big commotion so far..

Naw, I ain't boltin chit on. LOL I'm dumb I ain't styoopid.

I just wrap up in a fire retardant blanket and get under the car and go nuts with the welder.

Make sure and cover your hair real good when welding upside down.

I did frame connectors on a 72 swinger and about to do it on my wagon.

I use straight pieces from the metal yard.
