FWIW
I have a long-tail in my 68 Barracuda, with a GVod behind it ..... so not too long for the chassis.
You can make your own shifter adapter to put the stick anywhere you want it...... so not too long for the hump either.
I put the shifter about 7 inches to the rear, between the buckets now, so no more reaching for third under full power, and hoping it will go in all the way before my toe flips off the pedal.
But I guess that's neither here nor there as they say,lol.
