I personally have an 80cf bottle for my mig setup and a 125cf for the tig. I see no reason to have a 250cf bottle for home use unless you live really far from a refill facility or you plan on doing alot of welding in a short amount of time. I would recommend turning the bottle off when not using it as to not waste any from small leaks.

Agreed, you don’t need a large tank. I got mine really cheap so I bought it. I had a 20 first, too small. Just depends on how much you use it. At 20 cu feet per hour, a 20 cubic foot bottle is about an hour of welding. Estimate you time from there. Larger bottles cost more, but are a lot cheaper to fill per cubic foot.
