65 cuda 4speed
i have a 65 cuda 273 4speed, from what little i know of the car its all stock, my dad left it when he died, iv had it for about 2 years now.. i'm not a mechanic but i am mechanically inclined, i do all my own work on my vehicles and if i don't know how then i explore & figure it out, which is what brought me here.. so..... i'm driving down the road last week am going from 3rd to 4th, apply pressure to my clutch & bam , it slams to the floor to the point where i can't even see the pedal, now i notice a cable hanging from the bottom of my car on driver side? is this my clutch cable ? did it snap & that's what caused my clutch to go to the floor. a friend told me my car is too old & should not have a cable, it should have a Z bar and rods. i'm so confused because i have a brand new z bar in the trunk of the car, but i seem to have all of a sudden just noticed this cable.. my clutch will come back if i pull it up but as soon as i touch the pedal it slams back down. do i have a z bar & clutch cable. idk what i have and where to start??
