Hey everyone,

I have a 72 Duster that was originally a /6 now a 318. The 318 came out of something newer from the looks of the emissions stuff on the engine. Pretty sure it was a truck because of the length of the harness that's in it now.

Does anyone know what this cylinder is? I'm yanking it off because its ugly, not connected, and has shoddy broken wiring to it.

The greenish blue wire goes to the second small post on the left of the ballast resistor. The black wire is broken behind the engine and I'm not sure if it was a ground or not. There are two vacuum ports on the bottom of the cylinder that aren't hooked up.

I don't mind yanking stuff and rewiring, but I like to know what I'm taking off. Ignore the rest of the garbage wiring for now. I'm fixing it. lol. Thanks in advance!

Sorry, the one vacuum line that is hooked up goes to a manifold source on the carb.

Is it a CA car?

Might be an add on smog thingy from the 70s
