Use the nasty thick grease that keeps moisture out, stays where you put it, and lubricates stuff. Use it on the plastic bearings in the Z bar tube and all the sliding and contact points. I even grease the threads on the adjuster. The only place I don't use it is on the rubber pad between the adjuster and arm for the throw out bearing.
