Got the choke stat off tonight. to me this spring is on backwards or broken where the rod would be captured by it. As it is heated it functions, but doesn't actually pull on the rod. The rod just falls with it. If that is the way it is supposed to work than the rod is binding on the housing and needs to bent differently.View attachment 1715577733

That's exactly the way mine looks too. In your pic, as the spring warms up, it'll turn counter-clockwise, and the weight of the rod, etc. will pull open the choke butterfly and fast idle cam. Make sure all of this is freed up and moving easily. You also may need to bend the rod to get the choke to open fully.
