Contemplating a swap to standard transmission. 1967 Barracuda, 318, 904, 7.25" rear.
I have already acquired a Ford 9" rear (drum to drum and spring perches width correct.)
I would like to upgrade to standard transmission but do not know the best way to go about it. I know I would have to change the K member, console, driveshaft, pedal assembly, etc.
Being mopar, it started to add up quickly without any real confirmation if all parts from different suppliers would work together or am I getting into a "searching for rare and un-obtainable parts list.)
(An A833 4spd would be nice, but thinking it would be smarter to go with a T5 or Tremec)

Originality is already out the window on this car and I am just looking for input by anyone who has done the conversion.

Links would be appreciated.

I did a tremec 5 speed in my 67 Barracuda there is a post here on the forum. I needed a bell housing, flywheel, clutch and a pedal assembly. I used a hydraulic release bearing set up because I have no room for manual clutch linkage. Then of course the transmission, cross member, speedometer cable. If you do a tremec you will need sheet metal to re-make the transmission tunnel. I also had to move the console brackets to put the console back in. You will also need a custom driveshaft. It took a lot of work and time. The transmission was in and out 10-15 times getting the floor right and welding everything up, but it was more than worth it to me.

A833 isn't that bad, you'd use the same trans crossmember etc. Console just needs a trimming and top plate swap. Here is a good T5 thread since they're cheap and easy to get 70 Duster T5 Swap
