Being retired ideas

-
I split my time between my new project car and part time work for my company. I enjoy the work part as I can pick and choose my projects, days and hours and I pick up a little disposable for car parts. Maintaining the home and yard takes up the rest. Not comfortable travelling yet and that's a huge bummer.

Did that and raised 8 kids by myself had half of them in my truck driving all over the states not to long ago so I know what it's like driving 1000 miles non stop so I think I can step back and be a sissie. lol
These new eLogs keep us down to 14 hours total each day. Long gone are those 44 hour Green Bay to LA runs for me... the way I run today is really easy compared to my early days 49 years ago.
Plus we have PS and A/C!

Whittling?

I retired from the military and contract overseas now. But I wind up with time between jobs. So...
Started curing meat. Haven’t bought bacon in a decade or so.
Canning veggies.
Hunt and fish when I can.
Drink.

I do what I want , when I want , and only answer to GOD and the wife ! LOL

My grandmother told me many yrs ago that if you put a penny in a jar every time you have sex before you are married and take a penny out every time you have sex after you are married you will never empty the jar. So then you WILL have time to relax!

Seriously , the first 2 years were the hardest for me . Difficult in slowing down . After that I am as busy as I want to be . got involved in community issues , drag racing, family , gardening , all kinds of stuff . Can't afford to travel so we do day trips , no crowds . Health is the #1 issue . If you're healthy you are GOLDEN . We are not . Be grateful every day .

I've been retired for 28+ years. -- I started out by working part time jobs -- a Hardware Store -- A Car Dealer -- My own Rollback Service -- then 15 years at Enterprise Rent-A- Car, moving vehicles. -- During this time I was playing with 2 or 3 Hot Rods. Now I'm down sizing, and I have 2 Hot Rods - heading for one. -- I guess that I'm telling My age.

FYI, If you're older and having trouble with the vertical launch control device just remember something I always say, "If you're too old to cut the mustard.................................................................you can still lick the jar!!!!"

OOOOHhhh....54 Chevy wagon!!! No pics????????????????????????????????????????????:mad::mob::poke:
Only able to get through my wife & kids stuff for one photo of the 54 Chevy wagon. It hasn’t been on the road in 20 yrs. Whenever the 67 B’cuda Vert is done, I’ll pull it out for “before” photos and I’ll post them.

Still a ways to go before retirement. I cant until my wife does. Then again i may need a reason to get out of the house.

think its been long enough, when i finally do retire i may resume my pothead career that i gave up 30 years ago...

That would make the COOLEST hot rod!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Everyone in the family would skin me alive if I went the hot rod route. They all look at the car and see their dad, grandpa, etc. I’m not a Chevy guy, so this will be a learning project for me.

Yea got one of those that my family would skin me alive if I did the same, so me and my old buggy just put down the road and stop by the lake and grill a hot dog. lol

My son's car is a hot rod and still looks mostly stock! I've but the original chrome grill on it since these pics because my son wanted all the original chrome. Still working on getting chrome bumpers.

My other “skin me alive,“ 53 Dodge 1/2 ton, flathead 6 with Fluid Drive. I am the second owner - 45 years. My wife and I went on dates in it, drove it all through college, driven it am over Texas.
