That's weird. I always thought he was one of the most reasonable sellers on here. .......bumping his posts yes, but coming down a dollar or two with each bump. Seems reasonable.

It's cool that he threw this thing together and all, but it just doesn't seem as earth shattering or impressive as yall make out. I dunno? It's all good regardless

I haven't seen anybody say it was earth shattering. All I've seen is people sharing how they enjoy seeing someone having fun at the drag strip and then sharing that fun.

I do see you and a few others continually and purposefully running him down with a vengeance on just about every thread where he comes up. It's really getting old. You're a very intelligent guy. I have a lot of respect for your knowledge, but it's waning quickly. Give it a rest, ok? I'm asking nicely.

Oh you mad bro? Lol...you've been mad at me before! Lol.....I'm not running him down, I just dont see what's so great about his video content stuff....he has almost a "cult" following because hes a good story teller basically.I watch it too, just doesn't seem that impressive to me.

No, I'm not mad. I'm asking a favor from one car guy to another. He and Kathy are friends. I would ask the same thing of someone else if they were constantly following threads about you around running you down. I wish you'd stop it. Again, I'm asking you nicely. If you don't want to actually contribute something positive like the rest of us, just don't say anything.

What would you like me to contribute? The recipe I used 25 years ago? Hes probably a great guy, but I'm not impressed by his builds, my opinion is worth exactly the same as yours. I've offered to help the guy who had UT assemble his 318 that was done as a publicity stunt, I've offered to do a short block for toolmans 500HP 318 thread...I help a lot of people, you just wouldn't know that because I dont have a YouTube channel. And UTG contributes ZERO to FABO, unlike myself. Now, excuse me while I mosey back over to the political section and point out some hypocrisy over there!
 
This might shock some, but youtube is entertainment as well as the "how to" channel. Many believe (believed) if you have a youtube channel, you must provide 100% educational, life enhancing videos.... all for free, of course! YouTube is a source of how to's, but it is also huge in entertainment. I learn nothing from Vice Grip Garage, but I find it entertaining, just like bottle rocket. IF someone doesn't like the content, just simply don't click on it. IF 500,000 people subscribe to any channel and enjoy it, what difference does it make?

The number one reason I use youtube is for watching cat videos.
 
I enjoy a car built of cheap parts in a series of videos starting from cradle to grave. Rather watching cars people throw endless money at or having others build for them. It’s hard to race against money and resources. Anytime someone builds a car themselves regardless of what it runs I’m happy for them. I got that people have a complex and don’t jive with UTG personality. However, he is accomplishing what he set out to do with that particular car. The cards are on the table. You can see what works and what doesn’t. Hasn’t scattered yet like the others advocated. I’ll hold my breath during the big squeeze. If he can get this boat to turn a 10.99 first season out or even second season, what’s not to like. I know folks that chased numbers for years putting themselves in the poor house.

It's people doing what he's doing now that started hot rodding in the first place. That right there alone by itself is reason enough to give the guy some respect.

It’s a trade off. The car is pig heavy. IDK what the rear gear is but he can’t be anywhere near what it needs to be to get the SLR anywhere close.

Ideally you want the split in the 3-4 or 4-5 shift but you can’t always get that.

What he’s giving up in the 1-2 shift he’s getting back in spades the lower first gear to get it to move.

I think it is 4.10 gear. Don't know tire size.
 
I asked him why the OD trans and he said so he can hit it with the Nos in 2nd with the gear spread.

Post 20. The whole purpose of the build is to use all unwanted parts and car. My bet is the 1st thing to go in the drivetrain once he starts spraying it will be the 8.25 axles. He welded the spider gears as well. But he plainly stated he plans to break parts - even an engine or 3 to get his goal of 10's
 
I'm not sure I buy the longer gear spread is better with spray logic. I get that the nitrous will flatten the HP/tq curves. However, to make power you need to move as much air as possible. How to move more air with less cubes is to increase rpm. So if that is true, wouldn't it be more advantageous to keep the revs as high as possible with a shorter gear spread?!
 
He has the dual points set up on a switch - uses one set of points for NA, and the other set to retard the timing for NOS
