The event was pretty good last year. Hot though.
Sacramento Raceway site is lacking any details for this years event.. Does anyone have the inside scoop??
Hope it cools off this year..

I'm with the Capital City Mopars car club. One of our members is spearheading the event. His name is Randy Pike. He is NOT associated with the owners of the raceway. The owners have been notoriously lazy about promoting any event at the track.
I don't have a date but it will be in late September and it will be T W O days this year!
I'll report back with more info soon. PM me to remind me if I don't have more info by this time tomorrow.

Roger that !
I know (knew) Randy! it's been a lifetime ago. He used to show up at my buddies shop looking to get some parts for swap meets.
Randy did a great job last year, I'm sure this year will be the same...

Planning on going. I don't know if I'll be bringing a car to run or swapping. I remember a few years ago, the swap was on the smaller side but had pretty good luck moving some parts. There were definitely folks there looking for parts.

Agree on swap being small(last year) prices were good things seemed to sell. Will be there again this year as spectator. Last year was my first time at sacto raceway.

Kern, any updates? Is this really going to be a two day Mopar event? It's hard to believe but if so ... sweet.

Yeah! Maybe you can tell us what the weather will be like too..
Don't like heat..

EDIT************************************************************
Heat? Come on, people....This is Sacramento in the late summer. The venue is mostly asphalt. Heat is just an unfortunate part of it.
Randy Pike has ran the event the last 2 years and it has grown dramatically. The show car count went from approximately 10 cars in 2017 to 45 last year. More racers, more spectators, even the swap meet people ran out of room. It is in no way a HUGE show but it is much bigger than it was before. It used to be in early September. It should be a little bit cooler now being about 3 weeks later in the year.

The show is NOT a 2 day event! Friday is the test and tune night, Saturday is the date of the show.

Yes, even when it was the Mopar Magic event, we still had a good time out there no matter what. If you're swapping, all you need is a canopy and to back up to the short cyclone fencing (that runs the length of the tack) and setup. Like any swap, it's busy first thing in the morning and then it tapers off. The cool thing is if you're along the fence line, you can watch the races and mind your spot at the same time. I do not know what the official rules are re: BBQ but we always bring a Smokey Joe/and a cooler full of drinks/food. This all makes for a pretty enjoyable day (or two).

Might have to go just for the swap. Just bought a new (yes, brand new) car today that is supposed to get 41 mpg on the highway with a trunk big enough to bring some parts...I think my EZ-up might fit as well...won't be putting the 340 in it for sale, though, that would just be too much...

I'm thinking of making it my first show. Looked up the info for entry and was hoping maybe someone could clarify. Looks like it's $30 if you pay ahead and $40 at the gate, does that get you in for each day? Also my little '63 isn't gonna blow anyone away so would it really be worth showing? First timer so sorry if it's a silly ask.

Nothing wrong with showing it. Not all cars are show cars. I dont really like that term. Enter your car check out the swap meet and watch some drag racing. Friday is really just test n tune.

If it works out for me, I'll be there with my '63.
Gonna test a carb Friday, show it Saturday.
I agree with Joe, bring it! I want to see it !

YES, that is correct.
Sorry for the confusion. I talked to Randy last night. I corrected my earlier post.

Kern !
Do you know if Smith is still allowing camping (motorhome) in the parking lot over night?
I'd like to hit TnT then the show Saturday..

I don't know. Send me a PM and I can give you Randy's number.

May come up with our 64 , definitely not a show car . If you enter into the swap meet do you also get an entry into the show? Or is it one or the other? I just have a couple of things that would like to go to the swap meet. Dented bumper and a couple small items

@Kern Dog would be better to answer that more specifically...
I would love to see your '64 tho !

As far as I know, whether you pay to race, swap or show, that price gets you IN the gate.
Call THIS guy though:
