The bigger the project the more equipment and people it takes. The piece has to stay wet. I actually have the equipment but have not used it yet. It's expensive. The topcoat is basically urethane clearcoat with a little violet tint to keep it from yellowing. The beauty of it is non metal pieces can be "chromed" and it can be tinted. The tint goes in the clear. The chrome is silver. Real silver hence the expense. The generic procedure is called gilding.
