440 swap

I'm not sure why everyone seems to think Schumacher was the only game in town?
Depending on your K frame:
Engine Performance & Vehicle Customizing Products From Hedman | Hedman Performance Group

And other options are out there, too; if these don't cover your application. Not to mention that its not very difficult to mod your existing K frame to accept standard B/RB engine mounts. We did it all the time back before Schumacher even existed... Motor plates can be a bear on the street, although some will argue that point.

I`ll argue that point , you`d never know mine was on a plate if I didnt tell you !

Has anyone ever used the trans dapt swap mounts? Any problems with em? Thanks!

I have used the trans dapt mounts several times for low deck swaps, worked well with typical shimming.

That’s what I’m doin. B into A body. Looks like u have to make your own torque bar? Thanks!

I used AREngineering plate. AndyF suggested I use studs, which i got from Mcmaster Carr. Permatex gaskacinch on surfaces, red rtv on threads. I used low mount powermaster alt, doty mfg pulley and ati balancer. Can use normal pulleys if water pump housing is milled the thickness of double gasket+ motor plate thickness

wouldn't that be one gasket and motor plate thickness? the pump housing has one gasket already which will go housing to plate and one extra gasket to go plate to block.
neil.

From what I’ve read, this plates the way to go... unless Schumachers up and running again soon.

With all the k-frame, motor mount and other modification necessary to stuff some of these big blocks into an a-body, with a manual transmission, how are we keeping the z-bar and associated clutch linkage lined up so as to not have release and engagement issues? A half inch too far aft will push the release bearing right through the pressure plate fingers. Time for a hydraulic clutch I guess.

I`ll argue that , havent had a problem out of mine i about 10 yrs . !

As I said; CAN be... all depends how it's executed. I've seen some very nicely done street-oriented motor plates. I've also seen ones that I wouldn't drive around the block. Like everything else on the car, it's a matter of design and execution.

I am in the same boat, but I have a spool mount K member, pretty sure I will just use a engine plate.
