Air cleaner recommendations

I have a mild 360, with a stock 72 single snorkel trap door air cleaner. I love the look of it, but I know it is restrictive. I can feel a big performance difference if run the car with no air cleaner. My question, is there a way to make my stock air cleaner flow better. If I cannot, what is recommended as a good flowing air cleaner. I have a carter AFB on a Weiand stealth intake, very limited on hood clearance.
 
Raise the lid by using a piece of 3/8" ID rubber hose of the correct length connected in a ring the same diameter of the air cleaner element. Connect the two ends of the hose with a bolt with the hex head cut off to form the circle.

Works perfect.
 
OLD SCHOOL. Flip the top lid and install a longer stud.Just not too long.
 
Not much room with a Stealth. I have to run a 1" drop base on my 13" Mopar cast air cleaner top.

The best is if you can convey (colder than the engine bay) outside air to the Carb.
