It looks like the contact plate (ring) might be missing, here is a different wheel with a good view of the horn wire but it's from a different style ( same theory), View attachment 1715588886
What year wheel do you have?
It's from my Duster. Glasses on and looked with a flashlight. Just a little tag on the wire. No date. Pretty sure it's an original. and I saw a 74 wheel on Ebay. Looked the same
