Power Steering box leaking?

-
There are posts on here about the lower seal. I think the basic procedure is to remove the pitman arm, the snap ring that holds the seal in & turn the car on. The pressure blows the seal out. I haven’t done it yet, but as I understand it can make quite a mess.
I had already posted that #16

So Redfish, remove the Pitman arm, Dust Cap and Snap Ring, on the lower one and just start the car and the seal will blow out. Then I will be able to push a new seal in with a socket just like the top?

pretty much. I should mention that late model power steering gears require a 1&5/16 hex socket for nut under pitman arm. Common socket sets stop at 1&1/4. You may need to increase rpm, steer to one end, and yes it can make a mess if you dont have a big catch pan. Socket or whatever knocker fits and deep enough. I have used the old seal to get a little better fit and/or depth.
Be careful moving seals past sharp edge splines. Cover splines with electric tape maybe. Lower is tapered so not quite as hazardous as upper. A damaged seal will leak worse than a worn one.

The shaft on the bottom is called a Sector Shaft right? So I need a Sector Shaft Seal?
