Weber Carbs

Or........SB.........In fact I own one of these. Bear in mind I am NOT talking about old school mechanical.........I'm talking about converting these to EFI with such as Megasquirt, or Holley HP etc etc

There are two big issues with stack injectors and really any IR type induction system.

The first is the fact that reversion exists in any induction type, and without a plenum the reversion issue is magnified. You can change the cam timing to help it a bit, but you may lose power doing it.

The second is the limit of airflow due to the stacks. They are terribly flow limited. The bigger the displacement and/or RPM, the sooner it shows up.

I learned in 1986 that stack injectors were killing a 377 inch SBC I was tuning. Over 6k it was out of air, and I couldn’t pull enough fuel out to get the fuel curve where it should have been. The tunnel ram made way more power.

Even EFI won’t fix any of that, as long as you are injecting the fuel at the valve cover rail. Even timing the fuel still has issues.

I’m not a fan of any stack injection system, or IR tunnel ram deal.
