It is 10 a.m. and almost dark outside except for a glowing Orange Sky. The sun is blocked out with Wildfire smoke. Three major wildfires are in the area one threatening some of the most beautiful Timber around. The winds are blowing with gusts up to 30 miles per hour. This could be really bad! The McKenzie river Basin is burning about 10 miles outside of Eugene Oregon

Our ranch almost burned two summers ago. I am looking to move towards the coast where the grass stays green all summer. Smokey here this morning in RR due to a fire near Chiloquin. And maybe some from the fire in Ashland or possibly Butte Falls. Stay safe!

Oh yeah I’m about 2 miles from the level 1 evac out Thurston Rd, Springfield. Here was the sun earlier and ash on work truck

Around here level 1 is "get the fire truck ready" and level 2 is "hit the market for more beer". Level three is scary but we just try to keep everything WET. Spray dow. All of the roads, buildings etc and cross your fingers. Scary stuff! Stay safe and good luck up there.

Mom mom and aunt are down visiting for the weekend and camping with is at the beach in so cal., they are flying back up to Portland to a stage 2 evacuation in Stayton Oregon. Well see if flights get canceled due to air quality.

You’re right about the Mckenzie River basin it’s beautiful over here, I’ve never seen bluer water.

My brother sent this pic, one from his house in Salem, and the other near his work in stayton.

yes it almost seems like nowhere safe from fire anymore California's burning, Oregon's burning, and Washington also has major fires. I understand moving farther west but Mapleton was on fire last week 4 miles from the ocean

Yeah mapleton is really close to the coast for sure. They arrested some chump for that fire. I’m at home now grabbing some essentials. I’m right on edge of town Springfield.

wow that's crazy do you no how far down the river the fire has came?

I don’t know how far the fire has came down, they’ve evacuated all the way to walterville.
I believe most of the town of Blue River is gone, my family has a long history dating back to the 40s up that River and for it to be devastated at the level I'm afraid of breaks my heart

My sons engine has been assigned to Cali to fight their fires .
We had a cold front move in yesterday with 50 mph winds and it blew your smoke into Boise around 3 pm .... could barely see the road !

Sadly unconfirmed 80-100 buildings in blue river have been destroyed. It’s hard to comprehend. They have upward 300 people outside the high school parking lot out here, retreating the fires.

Almost got our warehouse here yesterday about noon-time....came within about 8 feet from our north wall that is ab-butted up against the south embankment of the exit ramp of I-5 to WA Hi-way 512....we got LUCKY!!!!!!!

Praying for you guys, I hope you get rain soon.
Last couple of weeks we were on the opposite end, it rained so much here, I thought my picnic table in the back yard was going to float away.

the governor just announced that over 5000 square miles of forest are currently on fire in the state of Oregon. Most of these fires have zero containment at this time . many small communities destroyed and hundreds of structures and homes gone. with no numbers of loss of lives being given at this time. These fires we're fueled by 25 mile an hour winds that made inferno's down from the Cascades and pushed into the valleys. They went from 500 Acres to ten thousand acres in a few hours

Wow, I've experienced a lot wildfires here in NM, but nothing like that. 5000 square miles is a lot. To add perspective, there is roughly 40,000 square miles of federal and state public land in the Four Corners states, NM, AZ, CO, UT. 30 years ago, 10,000 acres was a huge fire, now it's really nothing.

Funny how the best country burns first. The Ruidoso file burned the some of the coolest country there is in this state, near the highest southernmost peak in lower 48, Sierra Blanca. An island in the sky destroyed. I hope you fare ok.
