So I have a 65 Valiant with the 273 engine and 3 speed column automatic and power steering.

I would like to switch from column automatic to manual 3 speed columnshifting now.

Does every 63 to 66 manual speed column fit or is there a difference between power steering and manual steering?
Do I need the a903 or the a745 for the standard 273?

Propeller shaft, clutch linkage and clutch pedal, that is clear

I am gearing up to do the same thing to my 66. The steering column length is different between power and manual. A 1970 and later 3 sped manual has a synco 1st gear. The earlier transmission does not. These once common parts are now hard to find. Good luck

The column tubes are the same length; the PS shaft is shorter than the manual shaft.

As Dartman mentioned, the center shaft is different between power and manual, but the other tube and guts are the same. so, if you find a manual shift column, but, with the wrong steering gear, just swap your old center shaft into the new column. Don't use a 903 transmission. They're junk. Use the 745. You'll also run into the fact that your crank is probably not drilled for a pilot bushing. You'll like have to hone the hole and machine down a bushing for it. When you get the transmission, try to get the bell housing and flywheel along with it so everything matches. Personally, going to all the trouble, I would just bite the bullet and put in a 4 speed, but, that's just me. I don't like 3-on-the-tree shifters. They are just too trouble prone. Good luck finding one that isn't worn out.
