will a super victor intake

-
I haven’t had a victor on for awhile as I have an Indy intake on now and a ported Super Victor before that. My son has a 1 inch spacer on his Victor340 plumbed to his lean out valve for quick warmups. Seems to like the spacer.
thanks , have a 1" spacer on the air gap , guess it goes to the victor as they both are the same height no clearance problems .
With the demon 750 and the victor car should be much better all around , the holley 670 and airgap just killed the top end of the car , car died at 5500 rpm in every gear , frustrating as hell . even on the dyno could not get over 520 hp . going to test on a chasis dyno once it is together .wosh meatball were here to give me the secret sauce to get 9000 rpm without having an engine stew in the oil pan

Just did this, 71 340 duster,Eddy SV pushes almost 2 inches past stock hood.
thanks that's what i figured withthe 6.2 base height . wuld have prefered super victor but don't want to butcher any of my 70 340 hoods

well thanks guys the 750 demon and victor 340 really helped , gets better mileage on the highway and makes power up to and past 6000 rpm , **** after it hits 3000 rpm it scares the **** out of me . That air gap even max ported really held it back

My old 410 stroker worked great with an Air-gap, ran to 6500 RPM no problem. When I switched to a Victor intake (if I recall correctly) I picked up about a tenth in the 1/4 (10.8 to 10.7). To me it sounds more like the carb was the issue (or a combination of the 2).

Glad you got it working well now.

my air gap gave up at 5500 rpm just died HP went downhill big time , and the air gap was maxi ported , just no compettiion compared to the Victor . it was tested on the dyno with 3 carberators 750 holley 650 and some 9 something super carb made no difference , intake held it back it ran to 6000plus but lost power after5500
What heads you running on the 410 ?

come on man !

I too had an airgap since it was always givien high recommendation. Then switched to the Victor 340 and victor intake work so much better.

My heads are ported Edelbrocks, both the Air-gap and the Victor I port matched and did a little work on. It is interesting how different parts work on different combos. My Air-gap worked well on my motor, and the Victor did a little better above 5500rpm (as to be expected).

my heads are the ede big mouth , air gap was ported and matched , just sucked on my combo
both were dyno tested , so no doubt about improvement , no placebo effect on perceived results

Good that you have it working well now. My old motor (and current) I have never dynoed, so I don't really know the HP difference between the two intakes...I'm a bracket racer, and I just know that in ET, the Victor was only about a tenth quicker on my old combo. With that said, every combo is different, what works well on 1 combo might suck on another. My current motor (same heads, bigger solid cam, more compression) is totally tailored towards the Victor, so my Air-gap will just sit on the shelf for another build.

that makes sense , with the air gap hp toppred out at 510 at 5500 rpm and dropped from there , now tops out at 530 hp at 6300 there might be more but that is my cutoff as i set my rev limiter at 6300
I don't race much these days after a stroke and 2 seizures just don't have the confidence Doctors are surprised i have not lost more than I have , don't want to take chances these days
